Source of Life and Strife: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Water
October 13-15, 2011
Gideon Putnam Resort
Saratoga Springs, NY
Host: Skidmore College
Dear AGLSP Members and Friends,
Autumn quickly approaches and with it the AGLSP Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs, NY. With a rich program that includes keynotes Deborah Cramer (author of "Great Waters: An Atlantic Passage"), Tom Lewis (author of "The Hudson: A History"), and Thomas A. Chambers (author of "Drinking the Waters: Creating an American Leisure Class at 19th-Century Mineral Springs"), we will have the opportunity to explore water in an area noted for its mineral springs. We are attaching the conference brochure to give you a sense of the breadth and depth of the concurrent session presentations you may attend.
The pre-conference workshop on October 13 will address the practicality of a GLS degree, integrating science into the GLS curriculum, and more.
The conference registration form is also attached.
Please be sure to make your hotel reservations by September 8 to secure your room at the conference rate ($159/night plus tax). That weekend is parents' weekend at Skidmore, so the hotel deadline is particularly important this year. The conference registration form and hotel reservation information can be found on the conference website: http://aglsp.org/2011_Conf_Registration.html
We look forward to seeing you in October.
